About Me

Hello,
I’m Carol.

I was born on July 14, 2005, in São Paulo, on a cold afternoon (by Brazilian standards). While growing up, art was always present. Both my parents are creative minds, and they fed me with their references, from music to advertising and graphic design. Brazil is a culturally rich place, but with a lot of inequality, and what has the power to connect all of us is art and culture. Living in such a diverse environment made me interested in many different creative expressions. Listening to a System Of a Down’s heavy metal tune while painting colorful cute flowers probably doesn't make sense to some people, but for me, it's just two things that make me happy. From singing with my rock band to painting the streets with an art collective and making graffiti on my bedroom walls, it’s all part of who I am. I believe art can make us better human beings. So much so that I even recently overcame my mostly shy nature to face a 1300 seats packed auditorium and sing at the biggest symphony orchestra venue in the country. Oh, I forgot to mention: in front of all my school colleagues, at my graduation ceremony. Phew.

I believe we all need to be active parts of the world we’re living in. That’s why I’m always concerned with promoting equality, human rights and fighting against all kinds of prejudice, especially against the LGBTQIA+ community.

Finally, I consider myself someone who loves to learn and improve my social and artistic skills while engaging in creating a better future for my generation and the next to come. And that’s what I want to keep doing in my professional and academic life.
